Let us, if we may be so grand, take you by the hand and take you on a leisurely stroll down memory lane…

• Rosewood is an independently owned specialist pet accessories’ designing, importing and distribution business
• Was established in 1960 by Eric and Rose Woods and Harry Irving, who is still the company’s chairman today
• In 1980 Rosewood moves to Broseley
• In 1985 Harry Irving takes a control of Rosewood
• Neil Panter joined the company as managing director in 1996. He acquired a controlling shareholding in the company in May 2007
• Company prides itself on being a good local employer - most of its employees live in Broseley, where the company is based. Over 30% of head office staff have 25 years service.
• The longest serving employee has been with the company for over 30 years. More than half the staff has been with the company for more than a decade.
• Now a bestselling cat toy range, Jolly Moggy was launched in summer 2002.
• Glee 2004 saw the launch of two of Rosewood’s current core range: 40Winks pet bedding and Catwalk Collection cat scratchers and climbers.
• Stormy weather in November 2005 led to a shipping container with Rosewood products being lost overboard. As a result, more than 60,000 Mister Twister, Chubleez and Jolly Moggy Christmas toys were lost at sea and washing up on the Sussex and Isle of Wight coastlines. We know of one toy washing up on Shoreham beach some 6 months later – the Reindeer Mister Twister was named by its finder as Jingle.

• In July 2006, the owner of a 2 year old rescue greyhound/golden retriever crossbreed dog called Tigger got in touch to thank Rosewood as the dog survived a near fatal car crash thanks to a Rosewood Fold Flat Carrier.
• One of Rosewood’s recent success stories that have now amassed walloping sales, the Naturals range of small animal treats was introduced in autumn 2006.
• Autumn 2006 also saw the launch of the Snuggles small animal bedding – a hit with small animal owners and wildlife centres too – a sleep bed from the range was used for red squirrel babies that were bred as part of a re-introduction programme in Scotland!
• With the designer end of the market in growth, in Autumn 2007 Rosewood created the brand new Wag ‘n’ Walk designer collar and lead dog range - available first in Fashion Nylon and later in Designer options.
• Autumn 2007 – Rosewood wins UK distribution rights for Petstages dog and cat toy range.
• Natural’s range of treats is introduced for the bird market at Gee 2007.
• Rosewood innovates the cat toy market with the introduction at Glee 2007 of its Natural Wild catnip toy range under the Jolly Moggy brand.
• A new brand is created - Options - with the launch of small animal grooming accessories at Glee 2007.
• Rosewood gets a brand new look – new logo and new strap line ‘it’s a pet thing’ – to coincide with the launch of a new trade catalogue in spring 2008. As part of the new Rosewood look, some of our pets took centre stage in our new trade catalogue and on our business cards.

• In spring 2008, Rosewood launches its Soft Protection Salon grooming accessories category, introduced with market innovating and unique colour co-ordinated pvc packaging.
• Autumn 2008 sees the launch of Meadow Hay Cookies - an innovative product designed that would revolutionise the selling and feeding of hay in the small animal market.
